Mix a few drops of mild soap with warm water in a bowl. We like Dr. Bronner's. Soak your jewelry for a few minutes. Then use a baby soft toothbrush to gently release any remaining grime left on your piece. Remove item from soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft polishing cloth to bring out the sparkle and shine. Cleaning should be done sparingly. Frequent cleaning can abrade the settings and stones over time.

If your jewelry needs a professional cleaning, a local jeweler may be able to steam clean or place your piece in an ultrasonic machine. Be aware that some stone compositions won't hold up to this type of cleaning (ex: emeralds, opals). Professional cleaning methods in the wrong hands could cause damage to your piece. Please ask whoever is cleaning it for you to explain why your piece is safe to clean before allowing them to care for your jewelry.
